about

Edges of Memory, is a meditation on insomnia, the inertia of grief and warm salve of friendship, written along the Upfield bike path, to Fawkner cemetery in Narrm / Melbourne on Wurundjeri Woiwurrung Country.

lyrics

In a time of water for a Cancer Moon
I lay in bed beyond the dawn
Remembered a Magpie Call
From 4 am

The city slept strangely in a time of death,
I rode with my sister to the cemetery edge
We sat and watched the sunset from a car park bench

I don’t know how to find a way out
But I do know how to love in short moments:
Friendship, beauty
The edges of memory

I don’t know how to find a way out
But I do know how to love in short moments:
Friendship, beauty
The edges of memory
